"Odyssey Drive” performs driving bluegrass with an edge, as well as emotional ballads and instrumentals. A contemporary sound with humor and a great sense of fun are special ingredients. Lead vocalist, Carol Beaugard, is best known as the radio DJ, host of ‘Lonesome Pine RFD’ heard on 89.1, WFDU-FM (NYC) and worldwide on WAMU’s ‘Bluegrass Country’. Her credits include fronting her former band, “Grover’s Mill”, and touring as a professional dancer with The Fiddlestyx Cloggers. Mater mandolin player Wayne Fugate studied and played with Barry Mitterhoff of Hot Tuna, and Mike Marshall, as well as stage work with Tony Trischka, Jay Ungar & Molly Mason and Kenny Kosek. Banjo phenomenon, Steve Wilson, is a veteran of the Nashville circuit where he toured and recorded with the Mikey J. Marc Horowitz has been playing five string banjo in both three finger and clawhammer styles for fifty years. This workshop covers both styles. South Indian Classical Veena concert by the highly acclaimed Nirmala Rajasekar, accompanied on the mridangam by popular local artiste and West Orange resident, Kumar Kanthan. The program is FREE, so all are welcome. The veena is an ancient plucked string instrument and the mridangam is an ancient percussion instrument used in South Indian classical music.
Russian born Ian Maksin was principal cellist for the New World Symphony, and has toured the world as a guest cellist and soloist playing with greats such as Andrea Bocelli, P Diddy, and many more. He will be introducing his latest CD "Solo Flight", an eclectic compliation of works for cello solo, ranging from Bach Cello Suites to a new piece by Chicago-based composer Ilya Levinson, as well as a suite for solo cello by Spanish cellist and composer Gaspar Cassado.
Michael grew up in Arizona learning traditional songs from his father and musical family and singing with his sister Linda. He has toured all over the world and performed on many of Linda Ronstadt's recordings. He is now joined by his two sons, Michael G, on cello and guitar, Petie Ronstadt on bass and guitar and Josh Hisle on banjo and guitar. All chime in with great harmonies and vocals.

Nashville artist Barbara Lamb will join us again performing her solo show. Barbara has played with the likes of Trisha Yearwood, Tony Trischka, Asleep at the Wheel, Peter Rowan, The John Cowan band, and many others. One of our favorite shows featuring fiddle, vocals, percussion, looping pedals, and nerves.
Cynthia Sayer is regarded as one of the top 4-string banjoists in the world today. A member of Woody Allen's Jazz band for over 10 years, Cynthia's solo career has taken her well beyond these New Orleans roots to become an acclaimed bandleader and guest artist. She has a unique and expansive approach to the instrument which is all her own, and she is also a respected vocalist. Her eclectic repertoire ranges from swing and hot jazz to tango, western classical, and more.
Matt Glaser is a Professor at Berklee college of Music, and is the Artistic Director of the American Roots Music Program there. Matt has played at Carnegie Hall with Yo-Yo Ma & Stephane Grappelli, and teh Boston Globe Jazz Festival with Gunther Schuller. Other credits include work with Bob Dylan, David Grisman, Ken Burns' ''Civil War'' soundtrack and much much more.
Mike Weatherley's credits include playing with Pete Seeger, Grammy nominated jazz vocalist Carla Cook, numerous jazz festivals, film soundtracks.

Violinist Elena Peres made her Carnegie Hall début in October 2001. Since then, she has performed recitals in USA, Japan, Israel, Spain, France, Italy and Germany. She is a faculty member at International Academy of Music in Italy and has served as Concertmaster of Manhattan School Of Music Symphony Orchestra. She has performed with the principal members of the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, New Jersey Symphony. She has also appeared with Ray Charles and David Sanborn. Dr. Peres is the Director of Orchestras at West Orange High School, NJ.
Canadian pianist Henri-Paul Sicsic has appeared with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, the Pasadena Philharmonic, and the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, among others. His performances have been aired on WQXR radio, on "France Musique" and in other major centers in the U.S. and Candada. He was appointed to the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto and received the Killam Teaching Prize, one of the highest academic honours awarded in Canada. He received a first prize at the grand Prix de la Vile de Nice Competition and top prize at the Royaume de la Musique National Radio Competition in France.

Rita Davidson, West Orange music teacher, accordionist, and National Editor of www.accordionusa.com will present a free concert, "A Tribute to Eugene Ettore". Eugene Ettore was a noted composer for the accordion, a resident of Livingston, and also a French horn player with the Livingston Symphony. This concert is the "kick off" event in a series of concerts in memorial celebration of his 90th birthday.
Rita has been attending accordion festivals and competitions for many years where she judges and also presents workshops and concerts on the “Life and Music of Eugene Ettore”. Rita will release a CD of the virtuoso compositions of Eugene Ettore in the near future.

Steve Hudson Chamber Group is a recent project of New Jersey based pianist/composer Steve Hudson that bridges and morphs jazz, chamber music, and folk music into one cohesive and individual sound. The ensemble features Zach Brock on violin, Jody Redhage on cello, Martin Urbach on percussion, and the leader on piano. Violinist Zach Brock has collaborated with artists such as bassist Stanley Clarke, Alice Coltrane, Jack DeJohnette, Mose Allison, Kurt Elling, Chris Potter, and The Mahavishnu Project. Cellist Jody Redhage is a rising star on the chamber and new music scene and has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Merkin Hall, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. She has collaborated with members of the Tokyo String Quartet, Bang on a Can All-Stars, Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Neil Diamond. Drummer/percussionist. Martin Urbach is from Bolivia and settled in New Orleans before later moving to New York to do his graduate studies at Manhattan School of Music. Martin performs in New York clubs and abroad with various jazz and new music groups. His most recent album “Shine” was ranked as “The Best of 2009” by Carole Hayes of Australia’s Shoalhaven FM, and is receiving airplay worldwide. A mixture of influences, ranging from funk and afro-Peruvian dances to an ample variety of classical music, has made the RH Trio a distinctive kind of jazz ensemble. Caroline Doctorow's career boasts seven folk/Americana albums and a reputation for delivering a song with a velveteen voice. She has established herself as a leading force on the folk music scene. Her albums appear regularly on the top of the folk music radio airplay charts. Ms. Doctorow has just appeared at The Guthrie Center and New Bedford Summerfest this season to standing room crowds and rave reviews. She can be heard on the PBS special "Freedom-The History of Us" narrated by Katie Couric and the Long Island History Journal featured her folk song "Big Duck Ramble" in a recent volume. Nanci Griffith and John Sebastian appear on her release "Another Country" a retrospective of the songs of Richard and Mimi Fariña, produced by Pete Kennedy. Ms. Doctorow tours the east coast with her band "The Steamrollers" and hosts the WPKN folk radio show The Songtrails Radio Hour.
Renowned django jazz guitarist Stephane Wrembel will be giving a one-time special intimate performance at Mofiddles this October! After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with studies in Contemporary Jazz, Indian, African and Middle Eastern music, his life took another turn when he moved to New York City. Like New York, Stephane is aways in motion- always searching and never stopping in his quest to create a new sound. He has recently reached new heights of accomplishments having composed the soundtrack for Woody Allen's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" as well as the theme for "Midnight in Paris." Amazing guitarist Adam Kestler brings his unique brand of blues rock to Mofiddles February 18th. This intimate performance will feature Adam and his band, and include songs from his spectacular new album "Back to Normal." Adam has been playing guitar since the age of eleven and has been performing, recording, and teaching in the greater NY area for the last 19 years. Having graduated from Berklee and worked with various projects, Adam has toured the U.S exstensively. He has appeared live at the Knitting Factory, CBGB’s, The Paradise (Boston), Sin-E, and Maxwell’s to name a few. His studio work as a recording artist includes sessions at New York’s Avatar Studios, Dubway Studios and Boston’s New Alliance Studios.
From Bach to Beatles and barn-burners to ballads, passion is guaranteed, when world renowned fingerstyle guitarist Richard Smith and cellist Julie Adams join forces at MoFiddles! The combination of Richard's fretboard fireworks and Julie's warm tone and lyrical style will melt your heartstrings, have your toes tapping and your jaws hanging open. Their ever changing repetoire comprises a wide variety of music from classical Bach to Beatles pop. It ranges from jazz standards to Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed and to Django Reinhart gypsy swing, not to mention their intriguing originals. "The most amazing guy I know on the guitar. Be sure to get here early. 9 year old banjo sensation Jonny Mizzone along with his brother Robbie (13) on fiddle, and Tommy (14) on guitar, comprise the Sleepy Man Banjo Boys. They are best known for their youTube bedroom practice videos, with over 5.8 million views. They appeared on the David Letterman show, NBC's Today Show, the Mike Huckabee show, and also the MoShow! ~ The open mic will run as usual: acoustic only, two tunes, no religion, no politics. There could be another special surprise... There is no charge for this event, but large donations are highly appreciated :)

Best known regionally as a member of New Jersey- based Kentucky Roots, Steve Lutke brings to the table a musical family background fueled by a keen sense of exploration and experimentation. If you're a fan of Bela Fleck and Earl Scruggs you're going to love Steve Lutke!
The first Thursday of the month is upon us, and that means another open mic night at MoFiddles! If you're interested in performing, or even if you only want to watch, we welcome you! However, if you want to perform you need to know the rules: acoustic only, guitarists bring straps, 1-2 tunes, no politics or religion, and pieces must be memorized.
Join us for this large outdoor music festival sponsored by HCHY (Healthy Community, Healthy Youth), celebrating Youth Appreciation Week! Two large stages, food vendors, great sound system, and 18 bands will fill the streets for the day! A large turnout is expected for these popular bands, which include Brick+Mortar, Cash Cash, Reverse Order, and The Greens NYC, as well as 14 additional bands.
